These come from Benjamin Franklin.
Quote #1. Remember not only to say the right thing in the right place, but far more difficult still, to leave unsaid the wrong theing at the tempting moment.
Quote #2. Good sense is a thing all need, few have, and none think they want.
Just how is a person to decide? If we knew the entire path our feet will walk…does that make the deciding more painful or easier? Would we actually change in order to avoid whatever growth we’d see we would encounter? Would we actually enjoy life, in that frame of mind, knowing we would avoid that ‘growth’ that comes from adverse circumstances? Or would we still move ahead, trusting God for the strength needed to complete the journey? Grr, with a plethora of options to choose from, and knowing God knows what I will choose and that He will be there, no matter where I go, choosing doesn’t become easier.
Why? That’s what stumps me. Is it because of fear? A lack of faith in God? A hidden something that is keeping me from finding a clear direction of what my path should be? I really am at a lost of words and thoughts….something rare for me. Maybe, just maybe I’ll find something that guide me to where I should be, a candle illuminating the night. A spotlight would be preferable but I’ll settle for candlelight.
