A note of praise

Wow! Thanks God. Today is Father’s Day so of course, like all good little boys, I thank God for Dad. Not because I’m a good little boy but because I’m truly thankful for the Dad that I do have. When I look and hear of the stories that are out there of dads not being there for their children, not just in the world but in the conservative circles which I frequent, I’m just blessed again to have the Dad I have.

The second item on my praise list today is the affirmation I felt God gave me in both my private devotions and in the Sunday School lesson today. In SS, the thought came up that the least in the Kingdom of Heaven is greater than John the Baptist, who was the last of the prophets and, in effect, the last of the Old Testamentites, if that is semantically correct. That’s cool. That’s great…to know that we as Christians are called to a work that carries just as much weight, if not more, than those figures had who we look up to as heroes of faith. Now that thought alone can get one fired up but in my private devotions, I read I Cor. 13, a.k.a., the love chapter. Everything we do needs to have the element of love in/with it. And lastly, I also read Psalm 139, where the Psalmist says, in effect, “Where can I go that You are not there? You know me before I was even born“.

All in all, I have had a very good day. Once again the confirmation was there that, really, no matter what life has for me, and in the next few years there will be a lot of stuff, God is there. HOO-RAH!!!

A quote

Faith is no irresponsible shot in the dark. It is a responsible trust in God, who knows the desires of your hearts, the dreams you are given, and the goals you have set. He will guide your paths right. — Robert Schuller —

I seen this while perusing Facebook. And I like it…muchly. It doesn’t necessarily mean that if we put our trust in God, our dreams will come true. A friend of mine put it this way. He said, ‘Faith is putting your trust in God in whatever He wants to do with your life‘. I don’t know what I’m going to be doing or where I’ll be going, but I do know, if I trust, i.e. have faith, the latter sentence stands true. He will guide your paths right.
